After many years of development, Heart Core’s Akira-inspired boss rush shooter Gripper is finally out. This PC and Nintendo Switch title is out now on both platforms for $19.99 and has gotten its own launch trailer.
Some of the clips in this trailer are similar to ones in the release date trailer, as it shows protagonist and cyber biker None shooting and blasting his way around its bleak world while the intense music thumps in the background. Heart Core LTD co-founder Kirill Zolovkin spoke about what the game means to him and how it feels to finally release it.
Check out the Gripper launch trailer below:
“It’s a dream come true to finally get the game in player’s hands and we’re excited to see how they stack up against our grief-inspired bosses,” said Zolovkin. “Gripper is both a difficult and bombastic action game, and a personal story of love and loss, and we believe that we have created something truly special that players will enjoy.”
While Zolovkin described the heavier tones of the story, the gameplay is a bit lighter, as it pulls from games like Furi and Hyper Light Drifter. Players have to use their bike to rip pieces off opponents or use said vehicle to traverse big obstacle-ridden pipes.
