Galactus MCU: When Will the Next Marvel Cinematic Universe Villain Appear?

Marvel fans want to know when the iconic comic-book villain Galactus will appear in the MCU. Here is everything you need to know about Galactus’ Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances.

When will Galactus appear in the MCU movies?

The first Galactus MCU appearance will reportedly be in the 2025 Fantastic Four MCU reboot.

According to reputed industry insider Jeff Sneider of The Hot Mic podcast, Galactus will not only make his first MCU appearance in the Fantastic Four movie, which is part of MCU’s Phase Six, but he will also be the film’s main villain.

Additionally, Marvel Studios was reportedly looking for a Latino actor to play the villain. Later on August 3, 2023, Sneider reaffirmed the Latino casting choice via Twitter.

The mention of the Latino casting choice has led to many online casting rumors and speculations. One notable name to come from this is Desperados and Mask of Zorro star Antonio Banderas. Banderas only fueled the speculation via a post on his various social media accounts, such as Twitter, where he wrote:

Interestingly, Galactus almost made a cameo appearance in 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder, only to be scrapped from the film. This was revealed via an unused storyboard scene for the film by Anthony Winn.

Galactus’ further MCU appearances after 2025’s Fantastic Four film are unknown. However, he will likely be set up further in Avengers: Secret Wars before he becomes the main antagonist of the next three MCU phases: Phases 7, 8, and 9.

Is Galactus the next villain after Kang?

As of this writing, Galactus has not been confirmed to be the next major MCU villain after Kang.

However, it is very likely that he will be the next major MCU villain after Kang, given that in all Marvel adaptations, he is depicted as a huge threat to the universe and that it requires the effort of multiple Marvel heroes such as the Avengers, X-Men, Silver Surfer, Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four to defeat him.
