Why did Usher cosplay Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen? Gojo and Usher have already been a running joke in the JJK TikTok fandom for quite a while now. Now, Usher himself recently posted a TikTok of him cosplaying as Satoru Gojo. Here is a guide on the meme behind Usher, Gojo, and Jujutsu Kaisen on TikTok.
Why did Usher do a Gojo cosplay?
Anyone who’s in the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom would know that “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)” by Usher somehow became the official theme song for Gojo. The majority of the videos under this audio on TikTok are all posts about Gojo or Jujutsu Kaisen. So it’s no surprise that the news of this song being Gojo’s anthem reached Usher himself.
In Usher’s latest TikTok video, he’s cosplaying Gojo and he’s even doing Gojo’s infamous Domain Expansion hand sign. The audio in this video is the Usher remix of Jungkook’s song, “Standing Next to You.” Dedicated anime and K-pop fans would know that Jungkook is also a fan of Gojo and Jujutsu Kaisen.
However, Jujutsu Kaisen anime-onlys should avoid reading Usher’s caption on TikTok since it spoils a major character death from the manga. Many fans in the comments are surprised that they’ve been spoiled by Usher.
Usher Gojo Tiktok meme explained
Since 2023, the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom on TikTok began heavily associating Usher’s song “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)” with Satoru Gojo. Many creators and TikTok edits would use this audio for anything related to Gojo. Because of that, using Usher’s song on anything and everything Gojo became a running joke in the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom. Fans would also say Gojo-related stuff in the comments under Usher’s TikToks.
It also has been reported that Usher is performing in the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show. The JJK fandom took the meme to the next level and set up a petition on Change.org for Usher to perform “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)” at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Part of the meme includes jokes about a hologram of Gojo appearing, or Usher dressing up as Gojo while performing Daddy’s Home.
