Yuta copied Sukuna’s cursed technique using Sukuna’s last finger. Yuji and Yuta attack Sukuna together, with Yuji even spitting blood on Sukuna’s eyes during their hand-to-hand combat. Yuji knows this is their last chance to defeat Sukuna and retrieve Megumi.
Sukuna notices his cursed energy levels and control over Megumi’s body are weakening. He removes Hollow Wicker Basket and prepares the world-cutting slash attack. But Yuta and Yuji expected this and they counterattacked.
There’s a flashback of Yuji discussing with their group that souls can be combined but they can’t become one. He’s determined to wake up Megumi’s soul. Hana adds that Angel’s cursed technique (Jacob’s Ladder) is a good match for Yuji’s plan. The plan involves splitting Sukuna and Megumi’s souls, weakening the control over Megumi’s body, and then attacking with Angel’s technique.
Yuta uses Jacob’s Ladder, burning Sukuna. Yuji attacks with a soul punch and sees Megumi, but Megumi doesn’t have the will to live anymore. Sukuna attacks with the world cutting slash, hitting Yuta, Rika, and Yuji. Yuta’s domain shatters.
Maki arrives and stabs Sukuna from behind.
