With a trailer for Ghost Rider (2025) going viral, fans are asking whether it is fake or if an MCU movie is happening. Will Keanu Reeves play Johnny Blaze? Here’s all you need to know.
Is the Ghost Rider (2025) trailer real or fake?
The Ghost Rider (2025) trailer is fake and fan-made, and the film isn’t arriving in 2025.
The KH Studio YouTube channel recently launched the above concept trailer for Ghost Rider featuring Keanu Reeves. The 1 minute 23 seconds long teaser has gotten over 1.6 million views at the point of writing. However, it uses footage from old Ghost Rider movies and Reeves’ John Wick films.
Therefore, it’s clear the trailer is not real. KH Studio is known for putting fan-made trailers on its channel, and the latest Ghost Rider footage collage is another example. So, we shouldn’t expect the movie to come out in 2025 as it hasn’t been officially greenlit by Marvel Studios.
Will Keanu Reeves play Johnny Blaze in the MCU’s Ghost Rider movie?
Keanu Reeves has not been cast as Johnny Blaze for an MCU-based Ghost Rider movie yet.
While Marvel has been planning to bring Keanu Reeves into the MCU for a while, and he has been fan-cast as Ghost Rider for years, the casting hasn’t officially happened. Furthermore, no Ghost Rider movie has been announced either.
MCU’s current slate of movies includes –
- Deadpool & Wolverine – July 26, 2024
- Captain America: Brave New World – February 14, 2025
- Thunderbolts – May 2, 2025
- The Fantastic Four – July 25, 2025
- Blade – November 7, 2025
- Avengers 5 – May 1, 2026
- Avengers: Secret Wars – May 7, 2027
While there are a few vacant slots left for 2026 and 2027, a solo Ghost Rider project hasn’t been announced for them. Instead, these slots will likely be taken by Doctor Strange 3, Spider-Man 4, Thor 5, Armor Wars, and Shang-Chi 2, which are all currently in development. So, whether Keanu Reeves gets cast as Ghost Rider remains to be seen.
