Fans of author Tatsuki Fujimoto might be wondering if Look Back is getting an anime and where they can read the manga. The one-shot was published in 2021, and there are updates for the series this year. Here is a guide on the Look Back anime and manga.

Is Look Back getting an anime movie?

The Look Back anime film adaptation is scheduled to be released in Japan on June 28, 2024.

Look Back is a drama and horror thriller manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto and Shueisha published the one-shot in their Shonen Jump Plus magazine in July 2021. Some of the other works by Fujimoto are Chainsaw Man and Fire Punch.

The anime adaptation was first announced in February 2024 and Studio Durian is producing the movie. Kiyotaka Oshiyama (Flip Flappers, Devilman Crybaby) is directing and handling the screenplay and character designs. Haruka Nakamura (Trigun Stampede) is composing the music.

Where to read the Look Back manga

The Look Back one-shot manga is available on Shueisha’s Manga Plus and Viz Media.

If you’re reading through Manga Plus, you will need a Manga Plus Max subscription in order to read the one-shot manga. Shueisha offers two subscription plans: standard and deluxe. Both plans have no ads.

A standard plan costs $1.99 per month. With a standard plan, you can access all the chapters of manga that are currently ongoing, but you will have limited access to complete titles. The standard plan also offers the first month free.

Meanwhile, a deluxe plan costs $4.99 a month. You will be able to read manga that are currently ongoing and also series that are already finished.

If you’re reading through Shonen Jump, you will need a subscription, or you can purchase the manga in print through Viz Media. A paperback copy costs $14.99, with the prices varying depending on where you buy it.

A Shonen Jump subscription costs $2.99 a month. They also offer a 7-day free trial.
