Netflix released its much-awaited K-drama Hierarchy on Friday, June 7, 2024. Aside from the storyline, the cast members also earned significant attention. Lee Won-Jung and Ji Hye-Won, who played pivotal characters in the story, were also talked about most for their chemistry. It turns out that the two previously starred in the 2023 K-drama My Perfect Stranger. However, they played different supporting roles in the series.
Hierarchy follows the story of elite students from Jooshin High School, who control and exert their power over other students. The arrival of a scholarship student, Kang-Ha (Lee Chae-Min), changes the course of things. He pledges to avenge the death of his twin brother Kang In-Ha (Kim Min-Chul) and lays his suspicions on the elite students, including popular student Jeong Jae-Yi (Roh Jeong-Eui) and Jooshin Group heir Kim Ri-An (Kim Jae-Won).

In the most recent Netflix K-drama Hierarchy, Lee Won-Jung plays elite student Lee Woo-Jin, who has a one-sided crush on his friend and fellow elite student Yoon He-Ra (played by Ji Hye-Won). He even betrays his good friend Jae-Yi to express his feelings for He-Ra. Fans talked about the duo’s chemistry in the series.
Meanwhile, this wasn’t the first time that Lee Won-Jung and Ji Hye-Won starred in the same drama. Previously, the duo was cast as part of the supporting cast of the KBS K-drama My Perfect Stranger. The series, led by Kim Dong-Wook and Jin Ki-Joo, sees them travel back in time to encounter different life events that eventually connect them.
Lee Won-Jung plays Baek Hee-Seop, a third-year high school student who is lively and leads a simple life. He falls in love with fellow student Lee Soon-Ae (Seo Ji-Hye). Meanwhile, Ji Hye-Won plays Soon-Ae’s classmate Go Mi-Sook. The two have brief interactions throughout the drama.
