The Boys Season 4: Is Becca Still Alive or Is She Dead?

Fans are wondering what happened to Becca in The Boys Season 4. As the season progresses, Billy Butcher’s interaction with Becca has led to speculations about whether she is alive or dead or if these interactions are simply Butcher’s imagination.

Here’s everything you need to know about Becca in The Boys Season 4.

Is Becca alive or dead in The Boys Season 4?

Becca is dead in The Boys Season 4.

The Boys takes place in a world where certain individuals have special powers because of a drug called Compound V. Before the start of the series, Becca used to work for Vought International as the Senior Director of Digital Marketing and was married to Butcher. In 2011, Homelander sexually assaulted Becca, and she later became pregnant. After she gave birth to her son, Ryan, Vought removed Becca from her life and placed her at a secret facility, making her loved ones believe that she either vanished or died.

Becca eventually meets Butcher again in the season 1 finale. Unfortunately, she was killed in the season 2 final episode when Ryan accidentally hits her with his laser or heat ray while trying to protect her from Stormfront. With her dying breath, Becca asks Butcher to protect Ryan.

Why does Butcher see Becca in The Boys Season 4?

Butcher doesn’t necessarily see Becca but hallucinates about her.

These hallucinations are likely one of the effects of his repeated exposure to Compound V. A doctor tells Butcher in the third season finale that he has 12 to 18 months left of his life. It is possible that the hallucinations that Butcher has are partly caused by the brain tumor.

Moreover, Butcher has a worm-like thing living inside him. It activates whenever Butcher is in a stressful and dangerous situation and seems to give him an immense surge of power. It can be speculated that this worm, which is likely another result of Butcher’s abuse of Compound V, might also be causing Butcher’s hallucinations about his dead wife.

Either way, Butcher is hallucinating about Becca’s conscience, helping him keep his promise to Becca. Alternatively, as this is the bleak and nihilistic world of the Boys, this Becca is actually the worm, speaking to him and keeping him alive by taking the shape of one of the few people he has genuinely loved.
