Who killed Mother Aniseya in Star Wars: The Acolyte?
Mother Aniseya was killed by Jedi Master Sol, who mistook her protective actions toward Mae for an attack during a confrontation. He drove his lightsaber through her chest, leading to her death.
The Jedi discovered that Mae and Osha were artificially created using a vergence, a powerful concentration of Force energy. Seizing this revelation as his chance to return to Coruscant, Tobin steals a speeder to retrieve the girls, with Sol in pursuit and Indara and Kelnacca following in their ship. Meanwhile, Koril urges Mae to use her powers to prevent Osha from leaving. Aniseya, conflicted but ultimately supportive of Osha, faces opposition from her coven, who fear losing their future leader.

As tensions escalate, Mae sabotages the fortress’s door to trap everyone inside. Sol and Torbin scale the wall to gain entry, while Indara sends Kelnacca to intervene. Inside, Aniseya condemns the impending violence, but Koril vows to protect the children at any cost.
Amid the escalating chaos, Mae accidentally starts a fire while attempting to burn Osha’s journal. The flames quickly spread, trapping Osha inside a room. In a panic, Mae runs outside, desperately calling out for her mother. Her cries for help echo through the courtyard, drawing the attention of everyone present.
At this moment, Sol and Torbin arrive, confronting a group of armed witches. Seeing Mae running and calling out for help, Sol mistakenly identifies her as Osha. Koril draws her weapon on Torbin, and Aniseya starts using her powers to protect Mae but ends up getting stabbed by Sol before reaching her.
Before drawing her last breath, Aniseya reveals that Osha wanted to go with Sol and she was going to respect her wishes.
Why did Master Sol kill Mother Aniseya?
Master Sol killed Mother Aniseya because he misunderstood her actions as an attack while she was trying to protect Mae during a confrontation.
Sol acted instinctively to stop Aniseya from escaping, which unintentionally resulted in her death, leaving him immediately guilt-stricken. Following this, Koril screamed at Mae to run and launched an attack on Sol and Torbin. Sol, however, refused to fight Koril, only defending himself until an explosion caused by the fire disrupted the battle.
