The office romance Chinese drama As Beautiful As You, featuring Xu Kai and Tan Songyun in the lead roles, released its final set of episodes on July 23, 2024. As seen in the official trailer, the drama narrates the love story of Ji Xing (Tan Songyun) and Han Ting (Xu Kai). Episode 38 focuses on Han Ting being rushed to the hospital.
In this episode, Han Ting drives Ji Xing to her office. She expresses how lucky she is to find such a sensible boyfriend who always takes care of her. Meanwhile, Zhizhou calls her to give bad news. He tells her that one of their partner companies has terminated their contract with Xingchen and wouldn’t renew it. It is the only company that supplies tantalum, an important material needed for their work. As soon as Ji Xing hears the news, she decides to look into it.
Everyone at the company works hard to resolve the issue. Li Li calls around to find a raw material supplier but fails. Thankfully, Ji Xing is able to find a supplier on time. Furthermore, Han Ting helps Ji Xing find out who has caused the contract termination. Further into the episode, Zhizhou takes Li Li out on lunch. Li Li recalls that she has overheard some employees making fun of Zhizhou for being a hopeless romantic who doesn’t want to leave her side. On the other hand, Xiaomeng finally acknowledges Lu Lin Jia’s love and accepts his proposal to be his girlfriend.
Meanwhile, Han Ting proudly flaunts his relationship with Ji Xing. When a popular actress comes to his office to ask him out, he introduces Ji Xing as his girlfriend and turns her down. He doesn’t want Ji Xing to feel distressed. When they step out of the office, Han Ting suddenly starts to feel a sharp pain in his chest. He tries to brush it off at first but soon succumbs to the pain. Without wasting any time, Ji Xing rushes him to the hospital.
Why was Xu Kai hospitalized?
After a thorough checkup, Director Wei finds out that Han Ting immediately needs surgery to recover. Worried, Ji Xing sits beside his bed and cries uncontrollably. Soon, Han Ting regains his consciousness and urges Ji Xing to stop crying. In the meantime, Han Ting’s grandfather comes to visit him.
Mr. Han scolds him for never listening to him and always overworking. Han Ting explains to his grandfather that Ji Xing is not responsible for his condition. Han Ting’s grandfather is surprised that even in such a condition, he is worried about the woman he loves. He assures Han Ting that he is not dazed and that he doesn’t want others to keep hurting the woman his grandson loves.
What happens in As Beautiful As You episode 38’s ending?
The next day at work, Ji Xing and her company face another peril. Someone falsely frames the company by saying that one of their products contains radioactive ingredients. After sending Han Ting off to surgery, Ji Xing holds a press conference on the company’s behalf. She bravely refutes the claims and proves that none of their machines are faulty. In fact, the one who framed them used a deceptive tester that beeps at everything. Furthermore, she uses this opportunity to promote the company.
Her vision impresses Han Ting’s grandfather. He praises her for positively promoting the company’s attitude. Meanwhile, Han Ting’s surgery goes smoothly, and Ji Xing takes care of him post-surgery.
