Here is why 50 Cent didn’t perform at Donald Trump’s New York rally.
50 Cent claims he declined an invite to Donald Trump’s rally
Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, has revealed that he turned down an invitation to attend former President Donald Trump’s controversial rally in New York, which reportedly included a lucrative offer of $3 million. The rapper shared this information during an interview on The Breakfast Club, where he confirmed that he received a call about the event and was also approached to perform his hit song “Many Men (Wish Death)” at the Republican National Convention for a similar sum. The rapper stated, “I didn’t even go far… I didn’t talk to them about that kinda stuff. I’m afraid about politics. You understand? I do not like no part about them.”
He further elaborated and said, “It’s because when you do get involved in it, no matter how you feel, someone passionately disagrees with you. That’s the formula for the confusion that sent Kanye to Japan. He said something about both of those things — and now he can only go to Japan.” The rally was held at Madison Square Garden and boasted celebrity support from various well-known figures like Hulk Hogan and Dr. Phil. However, the rally faced criticism after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made several inflammatory remarks about racial minorities and Puerto Rico.
Shortly after 50 Cent’s statements, a Trump campaign official refuted his claim about the $3 million offer, but further details were not provided. A representative for 50 Cent has not yet responded to the campaign’s assertion. (via Variety)
