Rapper Jay-Z is facing serious accusations in a civil lawsuit that has recently garnered attention. The case, which also involves Sean “Diddy” Combs, centers around an alleged incident from 2000. While the details of the case have gained public attention, the accusations have led to heated responses from both Jay-Z and his legal team.
Here is more about the civil lawsuit against Jay-Z.
What is Jay-Z accused of doing with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs?
Jay-Z, the famous rapper and entrepreneur, is facing serious accusations in a federal lawsuit filed on Sunday. The civil lawsuit has accused Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl over two decades ago in 2000. The woman who has been identified as “Jane Doe” to protect her identity claims she was taken to an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in a limousine by a driver who worked for Combs. Allegedly drugged at the party, she says both Jay-Z and Combs took turns assaulting her.
Initially filed in October, the lawsuit was refiled on Sunday to add Jay-Z as a defendant. The accuser is seeking damages under New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act.
In response to the allegations, Jay-Z called them “idiotic” in a statement and questioned the credibility of the accuser’s attorney, Tony Buzbee. Jay Z wrote, “These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.” He also accused Buzbee of engaging in “blackmail” and expressed his concerns about how the accusations might affect his family. Combs, who is already facing federal charges of sex trafficking, has also denied all allegations of assault. His legal team has dismissed the lawsuits as “shameless publicity stunts.” Combs is currently in jail awaiting trial, which is set for May 2025. (via NBC News)
