Fans are wondering whether The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim has a post-credits scene or an end-credits scene. This anime film is based on the characters written by J.R.R. Tolkien and helmed by Kenji Kamiyama. The director is best known for his work on Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Blade Runner: Black Lotus.
Here is whether moviegoers should wait for a scene once the film’s credits start rolling or not.
Is there an end, mid, or post-credits scene in The War of the Rohirrim?
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim has no post-credits or end-credits scene.
Many films in recent times, such as The Fall Guy and Road House have included at least one after-credits scene. Thus, it is unsurprising why some fans were wondering whether The War of the Rohirrim would also follow this pattern and include one. Historically, the LOTR films have not included after-credits scenes at the end of each film. The anime film follows suit, with the storyline concluding without the need for a post or mid-credits scene.
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim takes place approximately 200 years before the events of the original LOTR trilogy. It adapts the appendices from J.R.R Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings novel, which focuses on Helm Hammerhand, the King of Rohan between 2741 and 2759.
The story follows Helm Hammerhand, who gets into conflict with Dunlending lord Wulf. The latter seeks vengeance for his father Freca’s death at Helm’s hands. Also part of this conflict is Helm’s daughter, Hera (who is unnamed in the appendices), who strives to fight and defeat Wulf and his army.
Will Matthews, Jeffrey Addiss, and Phillipa Boyens wrote the story. Furthermore, Matthews and Addiss contributed to the screenplay, alongside Arty Papageorgiou and Phoebe Gittins. Miranda Otto, who played Eowyn in the original trilogy, serves as the narrator of The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.
The voice cast of the film comprises Brian Cox as Helm Hammerhand, Gaia Wise as Hera, Luke Pasqualino as Wulf, Lorraine Ashbourne as Olwyn, Shaun Dooley as Freca, Benjamin Wainwright as Haleth, Yazdan Qafouri as Hama, and Laurence Ubong Williams as Frealeaf Hildeson.
