A new Mario Kart game has been confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2. It was revealed on January 16 with a short video clip.
The new Mario Kart game was dramatically revealed in the Nintendo Switch 2 “first-look trailer” at the 1:40 mark (video below). The system rotates around to show what game is being played. The Mario Kart gameplay clip shows footage of a desert map and various fan-favorite characters racing around.
It’s not yet clear if this Mario Kart game will officially be Mario Kart 9, or some kind of remaster. Whatever the game ends up being, if it releases at the console’s launch, it’s sure to make a big impact on the Nintendo Switch 2 release day.

At the time of writing, Nintendo has only confirmed Mario Kart for Nintendo Switch 2. However, reputable leaker Nate the Hate — who correctly leaked the January 16 reveal date — has reported other games planned for the new console.

Of course, Nintendo could be working on even more games for the Nintendo Switch 2. Pokemon is surely going to make an appearance sooner rather than later, and fans will be expecting to hear more from The Legend of Zelda.
