A little over a year from the World Premiere of Ana Lily Amirpours stellar debut, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, the film hits VOD as Keanu Reeves and Jim Carrey are announced for her sophomore feature, cannibal love story The Bad Batch.
To say this is exciting and deserved is an understatement. A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night is a swooning, purely cinematic world, one that invites viewers to live and hang out. Amirpour is clearly a thrilling new voice, informed by all manner of culture and art, evident in describing her upcoming film as Road Warrior meets Pretty in Pink. The Wrap reports Keanu Reeves. Jim Carrey, Suki Waterhouse and Diego Luna are joining Jason Momoa in the film. Reeves plays The Dream, Carrey is The Hermit, Luna is Jimmy and Waterhouse is the female lead, Arlen. The film itself is a love story between Miami Man (Momoa), a Cannibal, and his food.
Meanwhile, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night is now available on iTunes, Google Play, Vudu and Amazon Instant. The film comes to Blu-ray from Kino and VICE on April 21st and hits Netflix Instant the same day. It was on my list of the Best of 2014, and you can see my full review at Fangoria.
