Premiering at the upcoming 2015 Los Angeles Film Festival is the 5 Second Films and Snoot-produced VHS throwback Dude Bro Party Massacre III. In anticipation of the fest, the official trailer has hit and looks just as much of a tank topped, piss-taking good time as the last FX-heavy previews.
Featuring backyard FX and cameos from the likes of Patton Oswalt and party monster Andrew W.K., Dude Bro Party Massacre III is being described as a “satirical twist on the gory and sexually charged 1980s slasher genre.” The film is “presented as the only surviving VHS copy of the reviled horror franchises third, and final, installment. In the wake of two back-to-back mass murders on Chicos frat row, loner Brent Chirino must infiltrate the ranks of a popular fraternity to investigate his twin brothers murder at the hands of the serial killer known as Motherface.As they are picked off one by one, Brent and his fellow Dude Bros must face the terrifying reality that their deadly foe, believed to have been killed (twice!), has returned from the grave (again!), and is hell-bent on the destruction of the Delta Bis.”
While slasher tropes, and in turn film satire and commentary on slasher tropes, are well worn, the hope is Dude Bro Party Massacre III’s creative teams (the maniacs at 5 Second Films and Snoot, the producers behind The Guest and You’re Next) are bringing something fresh and proper fun to the screen.
