Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated film, Dunki, is scheduled for release on December 21, 2023. Ahead of its debut, the makers opened advance bookings, witnessing an overwhelming response from fans.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki is a comedy-drama centered around the concept of donkey flights, an illegal immigration entry technique.
Dunki’s storyline revolves around a group of friends who use the donkey flight method to enter another country without proper permits. This leads to their struggles in returning home.
The film stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, alongside Taapsee Pannu, Vikram Kochhar, and Boman Irani in pivotal roles. Additionally, Vicky Kaushal is set to make a special appearance.
Before the movie’s release, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that Dunki signifies being apart from your loved ones. He emphasized that when one is with them, the moments should feel like they last till the end of time, providing insight into the emotional essence of the film.

In addition to the regular screenings, SRK’s fan club and SRK Universe have organized special shows on over 1000 screens worldwide, setting a record for any Hindi actor. Notably, in Mumbai, the fan club achieved a remarkable feat with a groundbreaking 5:55 am show at Gaiety Cinema, making it the earliest show in cinema history.
Despite mixed reactions on social media about the early showtime, the show is expected to be sold out.
Both Dunki and Salaar were initially set for simultaneous releases on adjusted dates, sparking a captivating Box Office competition. It will be interesting to see whether Shah Rukh Khan can deliver his third blockbuster this year.
