Sara Ali Khan’s Ae Watan Mere Watan Release Date Revealed

On the occasion of World Radio Day, Sara Ali Khan announced the release date for her highly-anticipated movie, Ae Watan Mere Watan.

Kannan Iyer directed the movie, and Darab Farooqui wrote it. It also stars Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Shrivastav, Alexx O’Neil, and Anand Tiwari, alongside a cameo appearance by Emraan Hashmi. Ae Watan Mere Watan is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra under Dharmatic Entertainment. It will be available to stream on March 21, 2024, on Amazon Prime Video.

Ae Watan Mere Watan to release on March 21, 2024

On Tuesday, February 13, Sara Ali Khan took to her social media to announce the release date for the movie. She captioned the post with, “Desh ki kahaani, Usha ki zubaani World Radio Day par! #AeWatanMereWatanOnPrime, Mar 21 only on @primevideoin.”

The audio in the still clip features Sara Ali Khan’s character, informing the listeners that they will wake up in an Independent India soon. She will be seen portraying the role of Usha Mehta, who runs a clandestine radio channel during the British Raj.

Producer Karan Johar expressed his thoughts on the upcoming movie in a press note. He stated, “Ae Watan Mere Watan pays homage to the significant role radio played in uniting the country and fueling the fire in every Indian’s heart, further emboldening the Quit India Movement. The film has been a dream in the making and I am excited to embark on this journey.”

The historical thriller tells a fictional tale of an underground radio station that changed the course of India’s freedom struggle. It draws inspiration from real-life freedom fighter Usha Mehta and also pays homage to the unsung heroes who enabled India’s independence. Streaming in Hindi and dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam will be available.
