Set in a posh Delhi club, Murder Mubarak promises to be a rollercoaster ride, full of suspense and dark humor. Pankaj Tripathi, essaying the role of ACP Bhavani Singh, finds himself entangled in a web of deceit and suspicion. The plot follows the detective’s attempt to solve a mysterious murder within the Royal Delhi Club. With every member a potential murderer, the stakes couldn’t be higher for the determined investigator.
Reflecting on his role, Pankaj Tripathi expressed his enthusiasm for portraying a detective in a storyline with intrigue and complexity. “It was refreshing to play a cop in an interesting and engaging film,” he remarked. Tripathi added, “The viewer will not stress over who has done the murder because this world and its characters are very quirky. It’s Homi Adajania’s world.”
Tripathi’s decision to embrace the role of ACP Bhavani Singh stemmed from many factors. One of these includes his admiration for director Homi Adajania and the compelling script. He revealed, “When producer Dinesh Vijan bought the rights to this book, he told me that he wants me to play a detective. My wife used to tell me that whenever I’ll play the role of an investigator or a detective, I’ll do a good job.”
Pankaj Tripathi’s portrayal draws inspiration from his interpretation of the role. Yet, he also acknowledged the influence of iconic detective characters from literature. He shared, “I have read a few detective novels which help you visualize characters on your own. That’s why books are special, writers describe, they don’t give you visuals.”
