Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Shahid Kapoor & More Celebrities Cast Their Vote in Mumbai

As Phase 5 of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 began, the city of Mumbai witnessed a significant turnout at the polls, including the participation of numerous Bollywood celebrities. Voting took place across 49 constituencies spanning six states and two Union Territories. Six high-profile seats are allotted in Mumbai, which are drawing particular attention.

Among the early voters was actress Janhvi Kapoor, who is currently busy promoting her film, Mr and Mrs Mahi. She was dressed elegantly in a pink anarkali suit and was beaming as she posed for photographers before casting her vote. Holding her voter card, she showed grace and civic responsibility, encouraging her fans to follow suit.

Joining her was her co-star, Rajkummar Rao, who arrived at the polling station in a maroon-printed t-shirt. He proudly displayed his inked finger after voting, highlighting the importance of electoral participation.

Shahid Kapoor also took to Instagram to share a post-vote selfie. He was seen flaunting his inked finger with the message, “Cast your vote. Every vote matters.” His wife, Mira Rajput, also shared her excitement about voting in Mumbai for the first time through an Instagram story.

The Akhtar siblings, Farhan and Zoya, were also seen at the polling station and later captured the moment on their social media accounts. Farhan and Zoya shared their experience and encouraged the public to exercise their democratic rights.

Kunal Kemmu and Soha Ali Khan also documented their voting experience, sharing pictures and posts urging their followers to vote. Tabu, currently in the spotlight for her role in Dune: Prophecy, arrived in a white kurta paired with black pyjamas and a mask, displaying her inked finger after casting her vote.

Kriti Sanon and her sister Nupur Sanon also encouraged their fans to vote by sharing pictures on social media.

Ranbir Kapoor, Ananya Panday and other celebrities cast their votes

Ranbir Kapoor was also seen in a queue, dressed in a white shirt and black pants. Accompanied by her family, Ananya Panday also cast her vote. Her father, Chunky Panday, shared a heartfelt post expressing his joy at the high voter turnout.

Aamir Khan and his ex-wife Kiran Rao voted together, and Kiran shared a photo on Instagram captioned #Justdoit. Veteran actress Rekha also participated, elegantly dressed in a white salwar suit, setting an example for her admirers.

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan arrived together to vote. Kareena wore a white kurta with denim pants, while Saif opted for a cream-coloured Pathani suit. Kiara Advani also urged everyone to vote, cast her vote, and proudly showed her inked finger.

Sara Ali Khan also shared her voting experience on social media, donning a white kurta with a dupatta and spectacles. Heeramandi actor Sonakshi Sinha and her mother, Poonam Sinha, also arrived to cast their votes.

The participation of such celebrities underscored the importance of civic engagement. Bollywood icons like Shah Rukh Khan, along with his family, and the Bachchan family, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who recently returned from Cannes, were also present to cast their vote.

Their participation highlighted the enthusiasm and responsibility felt by these stars and can also be seen as an encouragement for the youth to follow. Suhana Khan’s Instagram post, urging everyone to vote, further emphasized the significance of each vote in shaping the nation’s future.

As Mumbai’s celebrities stepped out to vote, they not only exercised their democratic rights but also inspired millions of their fans to do the same. Their presence reinforced the vital role of each citizen in a democracy.
