Raayan Age Rating: Is Dhanush’s Movie Safe for Kids?

The highly anticipated Tamil action drama, Raayan, is set to hit theaters worldwide on July 26, 2024. Moreover, actor Dhanush has starred in and directed the film. Besides him, the cast features Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Selvaraghavan, and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles. While most details about the project are under wraps, fans want to know about the movie’s CBFC certification, age rating and whether it is a family-friendly venture.

What is Raayan movie age rating?

A recent update confirmed that Raayan has completed its censorship formalities two weeks before its release. Reportedly, the film has a runtime of 2 hours and 25 minutes. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has awarded it an ‘A’ certificate, meaning it is restricted to adult audiences only (18+). This rating indicates that the movie contains strong violence, explicit scenes, nudity, and abusive language that is not targeted at any particular social group. As a result, the age rating for Raayan is not suitable for children. It is intended for viewers above 18 years of age.

The makers had officially announced Raayan under the tentative title of D50 in 2023. The projects marks Dhanush’s 50th film as the lead actor. They later revealed the official title in February 2024. Although the plot details are under wraps, it is expected to revolve around a young man seeking revenge for his family’s death.

With an estimated budget of $11.9 million, makers have produced the movie under the banner of Sun Pictures. On the technical front, A. R. Rahman has scored the music, Om Prakash has handled the cinematography, and Prasanna GK has edited the film. Additionally, makers organized a grand audio launch event in Chennai. It was attended by the entire cast and crew of Raayan.

As anticipation for the film continues to build, it will be intriguing to see when the makers will drop its trailer. Stay tuned for more updates!
