Nam Joo-hyuk is all set to star in the Disney Plus original K-drama Vigilante, which is based on the webtoon of the same name. He will be essaying the role of Kim Ji-yong. The character is an outstanding student at a police university by day and a vigilante at night when he takes law in his own hands and fights off criminals. This action-thriller drama will premiere on November 8, 2023.
Disney Plus released a new poster on October 16, 2023, which showcased the character’s duality of being a student and a vigilante. The duality is essential to the story, which is well depicted in multiple posters of the K-drama. Several stills of the drama have also been simultaneously released, giving an introduction of other characters.
Nam Joo-hyuk leads a double life in Vigilante poster
In the newly-released poster of Vigilante, Nam Joo-Hyuk’s eyes are intense, while his face is divided into two sections. One side of the face is bright and clear, which marks his identity as an exemplary police university student. Meanwhile, the other side is dark and bloodstained, highlighting the vindictive vigilante in him.
The poster is captioned as, “From now on, I will judge again.” This justifies Ji-yong’s will to dissect criminal cases in his own way and demand justice from the criminals based on his judgement.
Vigilante follows the story of Kim Ji-yong, the son of a woman who was beaten to death. However, the perpetrator only received a light sentence for the crime. This prompted Ji-yong to take matters in his own hands. The eight-part series is directed by Choi Jeong-yeol.
A previously released poster saw Nam Joo-hyuk standing in the rain with his police uniform alongside his vigilante alter ego’s shadow. It is accompanied by scattered posters and watery alleyway with bright yellow lights. The poster is captioned, “There is a loophole in the law. Now I will fill that hole.” The line describes the discrepancies in the law and his understanding of the true meaning of justice.
Vigilante also stars Yoo Ji-tae, Lee Joon-hyuk, and Kim So-jin. Starting from November 8, 2023, on Disney Plus, two episodes of this action-packed K-drama will be released weekly.
