Dare to Love Me episode 5 aired on May 27, 2024, on KBS 2TV. The unique rom-com drama stars Kim Myung-Soo and Lee Yoo-Young. While Myung-Soo plays Shin Yoon-Bok, Yoo-Young portrays Kim Hong-Do. Yoon-Bok is a 21st-century MZ but believes in Confucian values because of his upbringing. On the other hand, Hong-Do is a modern woman who continuously struggles at work.
The storyline revolves around these two characters with contrasting personalities and how love blooms between them. So far, their friendship has brought them closer than before. Hong-Do has also started to feel something for Yoon-Bok, but is it love?
Meanwhile, a woman visits Yoon-Bok, and it seems Hong-Do is jealous of her. Who is the mysterious woman?
Dare to Love Me episode 5: A mysterious woman visits Kim Myung-Soo
Dare to Love Me episode 5 begins with an introduction of a mysterious woman who addresses Yoon-Bok informally. She says she wants to live with him; this proposal somewhat makes Shin Yoon-Bok (Kim Myung-Soo) and Kim Hong-Do uncomfortable. However, Yoon-Bok takes the woman inside his house and starts to behave rudely. He says he would like to see her gone until he returns. In the meantime, Hong-Do starts to wonder if she is Yoon-Bok’s ex-girlfriend who has returned to rekindle their relationship. She becomes too desperate to know the truth behind their bond.
Later that night, she takes a plate full of fried chicken to Yoon-Bok’s house. Meanwhile, upon Yoon-Bok’s return, he sees that the woman has prepared a meal for him. In a flashback, it is shown that the woman was once a teenage girl who left a young Yoon-Bok along with their mother. This means she is his elder sister, Shin Yi-Bok. However, Hong-Do doesn’t know that. When she comes with the platter, she imagines all the stuff she shouldn’t have and hurts her own feelings.
Meanwhile, Camille goes to Seonsang village to meet her old flame after 46 years. When Hong-Do comes up with Camille’s proposal to open the village for her show, he politely rejects it. Now, she visits the village looking absolutely gorgeous herself and demands it, but again gets rejected. She further hatches a plan that will unfold in the next episode. On the other hand, Hong-Do and Yi-Bok bond over beer after knowing who Yi-Bok (Jo In) is. However, it seems she is hiding her real identity when she says she is unemployed. In one of the scenes, she talks to one of the detectives and says that no one knows that she is an undercover cop, not even Yoon-Bok.
While returning from work, Yoon-Bok sees an ice cream shop and reminisces about the time he spent with Hong-Do. He buys ice cream and reaches Hong-Do’s house. As he is about to knock on the door, she opens it, and they collide, falling on each other. Hong-Do’s heart flutters, proving it is love after all, at least from his side.
