After six years, The Player 2: Master of Swindlers is returning to the screens, and fans are waiting with bated breath. The highly anticipated TVN drama stars Seong Seung-Heon, Lee Si-Eon, Tae Won-Seok, and others. So Jae-Hyeon directed the action crime thriller drama.
The storyline revolves around a team of scammers, including con artists, hackers, fighters, and drivers. Along with the actors reprising their roles, new actors Oh Yeon-Seo and Jang Gyu-Ri add depth to the narrative. On May 28, 2024, the actors and the director attended the online production presentation of their drama and talked about their experiences.
The Player 2: Master of Swindlers director confirms plans until Season 5
The previous season of The Player was a big hit. Now, the actors are returning after 6 years. Talking about it, Seong Seung-Heon said during the production’s presentation, “It is a great honor to be able to do a season for a certain work. I think there is a day like today because everyone worked hard.” He further added, as stated in X Sports, “I had fun filming just like I did in season 1. Although the content of the drama doesn’t make me laugh a lot, I really enjoyed the day I went to the filming set. I thought, ‘Let’s go all the way to season 10,’ and had a lot of fun filming it. I can show that cheerfulness intact through season 2 as well. I’m excited because it seems like it will happen.”
While confirming The Player 2: Master of Swindlers’ upcoming seasons, Lee Si-Eon shared, “The atmosphere was good in season 1. We have plans until season 5.” Further explaining, Si-Eon said, “We are preparing to become the ‘Crime City’ of the drama world. I hope we will be happy and happy until season 5. One a year.”
In response to Si-Eon, Seong Seung-Heon joked, “Lee Si-Eon decided to pay the production costs,” leaving everyone in fits of laughter. Along with them, the director also hinted that the drama might have seasons 3, 4, and 5.
