Frankly Speaking Episode 11 Recap & Spoilers: What Happens To Go Kyung-Pyo’s Family?

Frankly Speaking episode 11 aired on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, on JTBC and Netflix. Starring Go Kyung-Pyo and Kang Han-Na, the K-drama revolves around a former announcer with a condition where he cannot lie.

In the previous episode, Song Ki-Baek (Go Kyung-Pyo) and On Woo-Joo (Kang Han-Na) became an official couple after announcing the news publicly. After Ki-Baek’s career took a positive turn, he booked an expensive resort for his family. Since Ki-Baek was busy, his mother drove the clan to the location. However, on the way, a tragedy took place.

Episode 11 begins with Ki-Baek rushing to a hospital. He sees his brothers and father wounded while his mother is in critical condition. On the way to their trip, the family gets involved in an accident. Given that Ki-Baek’s mother was the driver, she received more serious injuries.

Frankly Speaking episode 11 spoilers: Go Kyung-Pyo can lie after his mother’s accident

In Frankly Speaking episode 11, the doctor at the hospital tells Ki-Baek that he and his family should be prepared for the worst. Ki-Baek wonders how he will pass the news to his family, who are devastated over his mother’s condition. For context, he has a condition where he cannot lie, so he fears telling the truth to his family.

Surprisingly, Ki-Baek successfully lies to his brothers, saying that their mother’s surgery has gone well and that she will wake up soon. Furthermore, Woo-Joo visits him at the hospital and asks if he is doing fine. Again, Ki-Baek lies that all is well. The pattern repeats more than once, and Ki-Baek realizes something has happened to his switch.

Initially, Woo-Joo believes Ki-Baek’s every word, but one morning, she catches him lying. Ki-Baek then admits that he can now lie and reveals Dr. Kim’s diagnosis. A flashback scene shows Dr. Kim saying, “Perhaps all of this was caused by your desperate sincerity. Your feelings towards Woo-Joo couldn’t be hidden because it was love. And now you’re lying because you care for your family. From now on, I guess you can choose to lie or not.”

The information surprises Woo-Joo, but she tells Ki-Baek to at least share his true feelings with her. The two share an emotional hug. Meanwhile, top star Jung-Heon’s (Joo Jong-Hyuk) manager is tense since the actor is nowhere to be found. Without informing anyone, he arrives at his hometown and volunteers at an old age hospital. One of the patients is his father.

Frankly Speaking episode 11 ending: Go Kyung-Pyo’s father’s talent leaves him in shock

After Ki-Baek’s mother’s accident in Frankly Speaking episode 11, the family has to work to meet their daily needs. He orders his brothers to pitch into the family’s expense but wants his father to rest. However, his father doesn’t want to burden Ki-Baek and sells his products to a known seller.

Unfortunately, the seller turns out to be greedy and scams Ki-Baek’s father. When Ki-Baek discovers the truth, he and his two brothers arrive at the warehouse. While the two brothers blame Ki-Baek for never caring about his family, he blames his father for being selfish and a loser. During their argument, the seller arrives at the warehouse along with a few thugs. Initially, the family hides and asks Ki-Baek to stay hidden, given his celebrity status.

Ki-Baek’s father confronts the seller, who orders his thug friends to attack him. The father announces that he used to be called “Beethoven” in his days and then beats up the goons. Ki-Baek and his brother are shocked to see their dad’s hidden talent. Toward the end, the family reconciles after sorting out their disagreements. The final scene shows many missed calls on his father’s phone from the hospital.
