Lee Je-Hoon recently confirmed that he has joined the Taxi Driver Season 3 cast. The South Korean actor has appeared in the previous two successful installments as the lead cast member. He will continue portraying his character in the new season.
Currently, Je-Hoon is busy promoting his forthcoming movie, Escape. In one of the interviews, he hinted at his upcoming projects — Signal 2 and Taxi Driver 3. However, he didn’t dive into many details.
Meanwhile, the Chief Detective 1958 star will play a North Korean soldier’s character in the movie Escape. Sweet Home actor Song Kang and Parasyte: The Grey’s Koo Kyo-Hwan will also appear alongside Je-Hoon.
Taxi Driver Season 3 cast: Escape’s Lee Je-Hoon confirmed
Lee Je-Hoon spoke with Sports Chosun about his upcoming dramas while promoting his new film, Escape. He said (originally in Korean), “Signal 2 and Taxi Driver 3 are waiting for me. When I look at the script, all I can say is that it’s crazy.”
The confirmation of the Season 3 renewal came in April 2023. A representative from the production team stated (originally in Korean), “Taxi Driver was recently confirmed for Season 3. We plan to start discussions with the actors, writer, and director from now on.”
Based on a webtoon of the same name, season 1 of the action-crime K-drama garnered appreciation for its storyline and cast. Then, it returned with season 2 in February 2023 and became an instant hit. Seeing the popularity of the franchise, Season 3 was announced within two months.
The official synopsis of season 1 reads, “A former special forces soldier delivers revenge for victims of injustice while working for a secret organization that fronts as a taxi company.” In this franchise, Lee Je-Hoon plays the lead role of Kim Do-Ki. Fans can watch the first two seasons on multiple streaming platforms, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Viki.
Meanwhile, Je-Hoon will appear in another action-drama movie, Escape. It will hit theaters on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
