BTS Jungkook promotes Golden album on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show

BTS’ Jungkook promoted his Golden album on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show on November 6, 2023. The talk show episode was recently released, and it showed Fallon sharing the K-pop star’s funny moments.

In the beginning, Fallon mentioned that Jungkook is a global popstar who recently replaced himself at No.1 on Spotify’s global chart. Sharing his thoughts on his successful journey, the BTS member said, “Frankly speaking, I was confident but this is beyond my imagination. And I am very grateful to ARMY.” For those unaware, BTS fans are called ARMY.

The talk show host further asked JK about what he does when not singing. The K-pop idol stated that he likes to stay in bed all day, cook, and do things like anyone else. Fallon then shared two Jungkook moments that he found funny. One of them was his biggest fear and another was him dozing off during a live streaming.

The BTS breakout star explained that the microwave is the scariest thing in the world. As Fallon laughed, JK mentioned that he fears it may explode. He added, “When I was young, I used to be afraid [of microwaves], but…still afraid [of them].”

The crowd and Fallon ended up laughing hard. The talk show host dropped another JK moment, showing a picture of the pop star sleeping during his Weverse livestream with fans. For over 45 minutes, he was asleep while “6 million people tuned in to watch” him taking a nap. The shy Jungkook told Fallon, “I think my fans Army liked it because it was something very unexpected. But, actually, it’s a little embarrassing.”

Jungkook on Golden World Tour: ‘Of course I want to do’

Jungkook explained on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show that his nickname is “Golden Maknae.” In Korean, “maknae” means the youngest. It is the nickname that BTS’ leader RM gave to Jungkook. He further mentioned that he picked Golden as his album name because he has many golden moments when he looks back on his journey.

Jungkook also shared his BTS members’ reactions after they listened to his album. He said, “Since we’ve been together such a long time, they didn’t really say anything in particular. They just said, ‘It’s great.’”

Finally, Jimmy Fallon asked what his fans wanted to know for a long time. He asked the pop star whether or not there would be a Golden World Tour in the future. In response, Jungkook said, “Of course I want to do a world tour as a solo artist, but I don’t think I have enough songs for that.”

He ended his interview by teaching Fallon some dance moves to Golden’s main track, “Standing Next To You.” The BTS member later performed the track live on the show.

The “Seven” singer will continue to promote his album in the US. His next stop is the Today’s Show. On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, he will join the Citi Concert Series and do a live concert at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.
