SM Entertainment’s popular girl group Aespa member Karina has penned an apology letter for fans. The K-pop star recently confirmed her relationship with K-drama star Lee Jae-Wook via the music label.
On February 27, Korean media Dispatch reported that Aespa’s Karina and The Impossible Heir star Lee Jae-Wook have been dating since meeting at a fashion show in Milan on January 14 this year. Later, both Karina and Lee Jae-Wook’s agencies confirmed the report, stating the celebrity couple is “getting to know each other.”

Aespa Karina’s touching apology letter to fans has stirred the debate about whether K-pop idols need to be remorseful for having a personal life. The 24-year-old shared the handwritten letter via her Instagram, apologizing for hurting fans’ sentiments.
“The Cure,” crooner wrote to fans: “I know very well how disappointed the MYs (Aespa fans) who have supported me up until now must be, and I also know that they are feeling upset while thinking back on the things we’ve said to one another. I feel even more sorry because I, too, understand those feelings all too well.”
She added: “Even though I’m worried that this [letter] may hurt [MYs- Aespa fans) one more time, the reason I’m taking the risk and writing this is because I wanted to convey that I am sincerely sorry to the fans who gifted me with the warmest winter of my life from the moment I debuted. Starting now, I want to do a good job filling the places where MYs have been wounded. I have always been sincere towards MYs, and even now, each and every one of you is truly precious to me.”
Karina finished the letter by emphasizing her plans to work hard and showing a more mature side of her artistic persona.
Meanwhile, Karina and Lee Jae-Wook’s relationship has been making headlines since Dispatch revealed how they met. The K-pop and K-drama couple met in Milan and had comfortable interactions.
Since then, Karina has been frequenting Lee Jae-Wook’s neighborhood. The pair also takes late-night walks in the area, as per photos shared by Dispatch.
Karina has also started making her public appearances after the dating news surfaced. She last attended a Krush event on February 29, 2024.
