BTS Military Discharge Dates: RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V & Jungkook’s Release Days Explored

The much-awaited countdown for BTS military discharge dates has started. After Jin’s release on June 12, 2024, the ARMY will keep track of all the BTS members who will finish their mandatory military service next.

BTS star Jin started his mandatory military service at the end of 2022. Meanwhile, the rest of the BTS members chose 2023 after releasing their debut albums. 

J-Hope enlisted in the military on April 18, 2023. Four other members, RM (Namjoon), Jimin, V (Kim Taehyung), and Jungkook, went to the military in December 2023. Suga (Yoongi) chose social service due to shoulder surgery and started training on September 22, 2023.

Discharge dates of BTS members explored as J-Hope’s release day comes near

The discharge dates of the rest of the BTS members will follow this order: J-Hope, RM, V, Jimin, Jungkook, and Suga, respectively. Suga will be the last to complete the mandatory service, but all the members will likely get discharged by June 2025.

Moreover, BTS members’ military discharge dates are as follows:

  • J-hope: October 17, 2024 (probable date based on enlistment on April 18, 2023)
  • RM: June 10, 2025 (projected date based on enlistment on December 11, 2023)
  • V: June 10, 2025 (V got enlisted on the same day as RM)
  • Jimin: June 11, 2025 (Jimin enlisted on December 12, 2024)
  • Jungkook: June 11, 2025 (Jungkook enlisted on the same day as Jimin)
  • Suga: June 21, 2025 (Suga enlisted under social service on September 22, 2023)

BTS’ reunion is already a much-discussed topic in the ARMY community, and the leader of the Grammy-nominated act assured fans that it is happening. Namjoon hinted at the upcoming reunion period of BTS in his latest Instagram photo with the caption “2025.” In the OT7 photo, all members pose on Jin’s discharge day.

Meanwhile, BTS fans are pouring in their love to welcome the oldest member of Bangtan back from the military on June 12, 2024. Netizens shared snaps of the overcrowded streets outside BTS’ company HYBE’s building. Furthermore, Jin addressed fans who came to see him on a Weverse post, expressing gratitude for the outpour of love.

In the post, the 31-year-old K-pop singer wrote, “Thank you so much to the reporters and the ARMY who came to the company to welcome me. I couldn’t say hello properly because I was afraid it would get crowded, but thank you so much.”

Additionally, Jin will meet fans on June 13 at the BTS Festa 2024 event, starting at 3 p.m. KST/2 a.m.ET at Jamsil Arena in Jamsil Sports Complex, Songpa-gu, Seoul.
