Variety is reporting that John Boyega (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) will star in Rebel Ridge, an upcoming Netflix thriller from writer/director Jeremy Saulnier (Green Room).

Rebel Ridge will be a high-velocity thriller that explores systemic American injustices through bone-breaking action sequences, suspense, and dark humor.
Filmscience and Bonneville Pictures will co-produce the feature alongside Saulnier, Anish Savjani, Neil Kopp, and Vincent Savino. Macon Blair will serve as executive producer.
Boyega’s recent credits also include Watership Down, Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, Pacific Rim: Uprising, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Detroit, and Attack the Block. His upcoming projects include the final installment in the Skywalker saga, The Rise of Skywalker, where he will reprise his role as Finn, in addition to the crime drama Naked Singularity starring alongside Bill Skarsgård and Olivia Cooke, as well as the TV miniseries Small Axe.

Saulnier is best known for his 2015 crime drama Green Room, which starred the late Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots, and Patrick Stewart. He recently directed Netflix’s Hold the Dark drama, starring Jeffrey Wright and Alexander Skarsgård.
