After getting delayed for the fourth time last September, Deadline brings word that STXfilms has decided to officially forego their previous theatrical release plans for Ric Roman Waugh’s forthcoming sci-fi disaster film Greenland and has opted for a digital release instead. The Gerard Butler-led film will now be making its debut later this year on Premium Video On-Demand. In addition, HBO has also reportedly bought the film’s pay TV and streaming in the U.S. for a $20 million – $30 million deal. The long-delayed film is expected to premiere on HBO and will be available for streaming on HBO Max in early next year.
