Game of Thrones alum Nathalie Emmanuel and TRON: Legacy’s Garrett Hedlund are set to star in Screen Gems’ upcoming contemporary horror thriller The Bride, according to Deadline. The movie is inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula and tells the story of a young woman who is courted and swept off her feet only to realize a gothic conspiracy is afoot.

The script is written by Blair Butler, based on her pitch, with revisions by Jessica M. Thompson who will helm the feature for Screen Gems. Emile Gladstone will produce the project.
The outlet adds that the film could potentially be the start of a franchise, “with the studio fast-tracking the movie for an end of summer start.”
Emmanuel has also starred in Furious 7, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Die Hart, and more. She will reprise her character of Ramsey in the next Fast Saga installment, F9, and will also star in the upcoming prequel to Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead titled Army of Thieves, as well as the TV series Unsinkable.

Hedlund’s credits also include Mudbound, Mosaic, Inside Llewyn Davis, Triple Frontier, Dreamland, Dirt Music, and Lee Daniels’ The United States vs. Billie Holiday. His upcoming projects include Marco Perego Saldana’s drama Keyhole Garden, as well as the mystery-thriller The Ploughmen written and directed by Ed Harris.
