Sony Pictures has officially delayed the release date for Patrick Hughes’ upcoming The Man From Toronto. Originally scheduled for a January 14, 2022 release, the action-comedy pic has been pushed back to seven months later and is now slated to arrive in theaters next summer on August 12, 2022.
Its new premiere date will see the Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson-led film going up against two other comedies in the form of Paramount Pictures’ Secret Headquarters starring Owen Wilson and Universal Pictures’ Bros starring Billy Eichner.

The Man From Toronto is directed by Hitman’s Bodyguard filmmaker Patrick Hughes from a screenplay penned by Robbie Fox (Playing for Keeps) and Chris Bremner (Bad Boys for Life). It tells the story of the world’s deadliest assassin and New York’s biggest screwup as they’re mistaken for each other at an Airbnb rental.
The film stars Kevin Hart (Ride Along), Woody Harrelson (Zombieland), Kaley Cuoco (The Flight Attendant), Ellen Barkin (Animal Kingdom), Lela Loren (Altered Carbon), and Kate Drummond (Wynnona Earp, Utopia Falls).

The Man From Toronto is executive produced by Bill Bannerman, Aaron L. Gilbert, and Jason Cloth, with Steve Tisch, Todd Black, and Jason Blumenthal set as producers.
Jason Statham was initially attached for the leading role but he decided to exit the project due to creative differences with the studio as the Transporter star wanted an edgier, R-rated tone for the pic.
