Chloë Grace Moretz’s breakthrough role came in 2010’s Kick-Ass, where she starred as Hit-Girl and earned rave reviews for her performance. While a sequel to the film has been released, Moretz is still open to revisiting the world for a third film, but only if the circumstances are right.

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Moretz was asked about the possibility of a third film happening. In the past, Moretz has been no stranger to talking about the Kick-Ass franchise and has even said that she wouldn’t really be up to doing a third. However, it seems like the actress is much more open to the idea now, but it would have to be a nearly “perfect” scenario in order to work.
“I mean, I think I would love to do a Kick-Ass 3,” Moretz said. “I think it’d be really fun to see where Hit-Girl goes, and what she does as an adult. But I think it would have to be, you know, kind of perfect. I feel like it would need to be, across the board, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and [Christopher Mintz-Plasse], and the whole crew back together.”

While the original Kick-Ass received massive praise from both fans and critics alike, the sequel didn’t fare so well. Starring all three of the main characters from the original film, the sequel failed to strike the same balance that the original did. Due to how poorly the sequel did, it seems unlikely that a third film would ever happen, but with Moretz at least mentioning the film and its possibility, it might get enough traction for fans to start hoping for a third entry in the series.
