As production continues on Batgirl, another batch of behind-the-scenes photos from the Glasgow set of the upcoming HBO Max film have surfaced online, featuring our first look at Leslie Grace sporting Barbara Gordon’s iconic red hair from the comics. One of the Batgirl set photos also teased a reference to the events that happened in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, revealing Lex Luthor’s current DCEU status.

The Batgirl film will be led by In the Heights star Leslie Grace as she portrays the role of Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon. The hero was first seen in the 1967 Batman series with the late Yvonne Craig playing Barbara. Batgirl’s first comic book appearance was in Detective Comics #357 by writer Gardner Fox and artist Carmine Infantino.
The live-action film will also feature the return of Oscar winner J.K. Simmons (Zack Snyder’s Justice League) and Michael Keaton (The Flash), who are set to reprise their respective roles of Commissioner Gordon, and Bruce Wayne/ Batman. Joining them are Jacob Scipio, Ethan Kai, Corey Johnson, Rebecca Front and Brendan Fraser in his second role with the DC Universe as the villain Firefly.

Batgirl is being directed by Bad Boys for Life filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah from a screenplay written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, The Flash). The film is a production by Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films, with Kristin Burr (Cruella) producing.
