The Sandra Bullock-Channing Tatum comedy The Lost City took the domestic box office by storm this weekend, collecting a stellar $31 million from 4,253 theaters — a record for a female-driven film in the pandemic era, according to Deadline. Compared to Bullock’s other features, The Lost City ranks alongside The Heat ($39 million) and The Proposal ($34 million), which is quite impressive considering the current state of movie theaters. Internationally, the comedy collected $3.7 million from 16 smaller markets
Speaking of which, S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR (Rise! Roar! Revolt!) collected a massive $60 million worldwide (including $9.5 million from North America). This marks the second best opening weekend ever for an Indian title, per the trade, even in North America behind only Rajamouli’s own Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The pic collected $1.5 million from global Imax venues, the second biggest for an Indian pic.
Otherwise, Matt Reeves’ The Batman pulled in another $20.5 million to bring its domestic total to $332 million after four weeks. Internationally, the superhero epic collected $25M from 76 international markets to bring its worldwide total to $672.9 million.

Michael Bay’s action thriller Ambulance brought in another $6.7 million from 58 offshore markets, bringing its international haul to $12.8 million. The film releases in the U.S. on April 8.
