Ethan Coen Teams Up With Focus Features for Solo Directorial Feature

Following the theatrical release of Joel Cohen’s The Tragedy of Macbeth, brother and long-time collaborator Ethan Coen has now also set his sights on directing his first solo feature. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Ethan Cohen has partnered with Focus Features and Working Title for his untitled film, which is expected to start its production this summer.

The untitled project is being co-written by Ethan Cohen and wife Tricia Cooke, who are both executive producing. Further details about the story are still being kept under wraps, but the outlet’s sources note that it will center around a lesbian road trip. Robert Graf and Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are also set to produce.

The Coen brothers are best known for their acclaimed works such as Raising Arizona, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, No Country for Old Men, Burn After Reading, True Grit, and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. Their decades-long collaboration have resulted into a number of accolades including winning six Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.
