Some people are ready to do whatever it takes to be noticed.
Starting July 29, Hulu subscribers will be able to watch Quinn Shephard’s latest black comedy film. The story follows a young woman called Danni Sanders as she fakes a trip to Paris to gain popularity. Not Okay stars Zoey Deutch (Before I Fall, Buffaloed), Dylan O’Brien (Love and Monsters), Mia Isaac (Don’t Make Me Go), Embeth Davidtz (Matilda), Nadia Alexander (The Sinner), Tia Donne Hodge (The Land of Steady Habits), Negin Farsad (High Maintenance), Karan Soni (Deadpool), and Dash Perry.
“Danni Sanders, an aimless aspiring writer with no friends, no romantic prospects and — worst of all — no followers, fakes an Instagram-friendly trip to Paris in the hopes of boosting her social media clout,” reads the synopsis. “When a terrifying incident strikes the City of Lights, Danni unwittingly falls into a lie bigger than she ever imagined. She ‘returns’ a hero, even striking up an unlikely friendship with Rowan, a school-shooting survivor dedicated to societal change, and scooping up the man of her dreams Colin. As an influencer and advocate, Danni finally has the life and audience she always wanted. But it’s only a matter of time before the facade cracks, and she learns the hard way that the Internet loves a takedown.”
