Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Toy Shows New Miles Morales Suit

New action figures for the upcoming sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse have made their way online, potentially showcasing some new upgrades for Miles Morales.

The new figure comes courtesy of Hasbro, and the pictures were shared online via Twitter. The figure seems to feature Morales in a newer suit than when we last saw him at the end of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. While the traditional black and red colorway persists, the lines on Miles’ shoulder are a bit more defined, with large red lines going all the way down the sides of his arms and legs as well.

Alongside the new suit, the figure also comes with some sort of web shooter that seems to fire a variety of different webs. Of course, it’s unclear if this will appear in the film, as it could simply be new accessories for the toy. However, the suit does seem to coincide with the brief look at Miles that fans got in the trailer, with red lines appearing all the way up the suit’s arms and legs and no large red pads on its shoulders.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will see Issa Rae’s Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman join Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld in the animated comic book sequel. The two are reprising their roles as Miles Morales/Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen, respectively. Plot details are being kept under wraps but will reportedly feature multiple Spider-powered characters “across Marvel Comics’ time and space.”

It was announced in April that Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson will serve as the film’s trio of directors. Lord, Miller, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Christina Steinberg are all returning to produce the Sony Pictures project, with Alonzo Ruvalcaba co-producing. The original Spider-Verse director Peter Ramsey will executive produce, along with Aditya Sood.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduced a teenage Miles Morales, who becomes the Spider-Man of his universe and must join with five spider-powered individuals from other dimensions to stop a threat to all realities. The movie won the 2019 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film and grossed $375.5 million at the global box office.
