Deadpool 3: Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman Provide MCU ‘Answers’ in New Video

Less than 24 hours since Ryan Reynolds broke the internet with the confirmation of Hugh Jackman’s long-awaited return as Wolverine, Reynolds has dropped another fun Deadpool 3 update video. This time, the titular anti-hero can be seen together with Jackman as they try their best to address fan questions regarding Wolverine’s Marvel Cinematic Universe debut.

The pair enthusiastically tease Logan’s part in the highly-anticipated third installment, while clarifying that they won’t be touching on the events that happened in James Mangold’s 2017 film Logan. The only catch is fans can’t hear what they’re saying as Wham!’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” plays loudly in the background. Reynolds and Jackman also end the video by thanking Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.

Deadpool 3 is being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick from a previous draft by Bob’s Burgers duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously assured fans that it will remain as an R-rated film just like the first two movies, which would make it the studio’s first movie with the said mature rating.

It will serve as the first movie in the Deadpool film series that will be released following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. It is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 6, 2024.
