According to Deadline, Roadside Attractions has successfully nabbed the North American theatrical distribution rights to the upcoming revenge comedy film titled Moving On, starring Grace and Frankie vets Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. The movie is now set to make its debut in theaters on March 17, 2023.
“[Roadside Attractions] couldn’t resist this smart comedy with the beloved Jane and Lily pairing up in a way you’ve never seen them before,” co-president of Roadside Attractions, Howard Cohen said in a statement. “They are best friends pulling off a crazy but intense caper that resonates with both their lives.”
Moving On is written and directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Paul Weitz, who previously worked with Tomlin on the road trip comedy film Grandma. Joining Fonda and Tomlin are Malcolm McDowell, Richard Roundtree, Catherine Dent, Nancy De Mayo, Eddie Martinez, and more.
The film will feature Fonda and Tomlin as “estranged friends who reunite to seek revenge on the petulant widower of their recently deceased best friend,” according to the film’s synopsis. “Along the way, Fonda’s character reunites with her great love as each woman learns to make peace with the past and each other.”
Executive producers are Zack Schiller, David Boies, Tyler Zacharia, Dan Balgoyen, and Britta Rowings. It is produced by Andrew Miano, Stephanie Meurer, Paul Weitz, Chris Parker, and Dylan Sellers. Moving On was fully financed by Limelight and Boies Schiller Entertainment.
