There’s Something in the Barn Exclusive Tracks
There’s Something in the Barn is the movie’s title track, which was composed by Lasse Enersen. The second track, titled ”Fighting Elves,” was also composed by Enersen.
In the film, Bill (Martin Starr) moves his American wife Carol (Amrita Acharia) and children Nora (Zoe Winter-Hansen) and Lucas (Townes Bunner) to Norway, where he’s inherited a family estate. While Bill dreams of turning the adjourning barn into a bed and breakfast, his family struggles to adapt to Scandinavian life. Lucas discovers a mischievous barn elf from ancient folklore living in the barn, with a set of rules the family must follow. When Bill dismisses Lucas’s warnings and fails to follow sacred holiday traditions, the elf plots to get rid of the American intruders at any cost.
Directed by Magnus Martens from a screenplay written by Aleksander Kirkwood Brown and produced by Kjetil Omberg and Jorgen Storm Rosenberg, There’s Something in the Barn is described as being “an ambitious artistic bridge between American classics and Norwegian mythology” that is like “Gremlins meets Home Alone meets National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation“. There’s Something in the Barn was produced by 74 Entertainment, with XYZ Films executive producing and co-financing. There’s Something in the Barn stars Martin Starr, Amrita Acharia, Kiran Shah, Zoe Winter-Hansen, Townes Bunner, Calle Hellevang-Larsen, Henriette Steenstrup, Paul Monaghan, and Jeppe Beck Larsen.
There’s Something in the Barn arrives on Digital in the US on December 5, 2023 by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and in the UK by Vertigo Releasing on December 1, 2023. Composer Lasse Enersen is also releasing the film’s score on December 1, 2023 through MovieScore Media.
