The 81st annual Golden Globe Awards aired last night, Sunday, January 7, 2023.
Hosted by comedian Jo Koy on CBS, the Golden Globes saw Oppenheimer take home five different awards, including Best Motion Picture Drama, Best Director Motion Picture (Christopher Nolan), and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Drama (Cillian Murphy). Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things, meanwhile, won Best Picture Musical or Comedy and Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy (Emma Stone), while Lily Gladstone took home Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her Killers of the Flower Moon role.
Succession, meanwhile, won four different awards in the television categories, including Best Television Series Drama, Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series Drama (Kieran Culkin), Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Drama (Sarah Snook), and Best Supporting Actor Television (Matthew Macfadyen).
This year’s show also introduced a brand-new award, Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, which went to Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. Check out the full list of winners below!
