Who is directing Amazon MGM’s The Pickup?
The Pickup is directed by Tim Story, who previously made 2002’s Barbershop, 2005’s Fantastic Four, 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, 2012’s Think Like a Man, 2014’s Ride Along, 2019’s Shaft, 2021’s Tom & Jerry, 2022’s The Blackening, and, most recently, 2023’s Dashing Through the Snow, among other titles.
The script for The Pickup was written by Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows, who previously created the animated series Gentlemen Lobsters together. John Davis and John Fox produce the movie alongside Murphy, Story, and Charisse Hewitt-Webster, while Jeremy Stein, Vicky Mara Story, Burrows, Mider, and Ross Fanger serve as executive producers.
As of now, plot details for The Pickup remain under wraps at this time, though the film is described as a “heist comedy.”
A release date for The Pickup has not yet been announced by Amazon MGM, though Deadline previously reported that the movie will be available to “stream on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide” at the time of its release.
