Taron Egerton reveals what’s needed for Carry-On 2 to happen on Netflix
Taron Egerton recently spoke about Carry-On and the potential of a 2nd part to happen in the future.
While Carry-On concludes with a happy ending for Egerton’s character, Ethan Kopek, the actor disclosed in a recent chat with Today that he would be open to being part of the sequel if it happens. He added that for Carry-On 2 to happen, the script has to be very strong and creative.
Egerton stated, “It’s kind of like an extraordinary set of circumstances, so I think it would need a really innovative, creative idea to feel like a worthy idea for a sequel. But yeah, why not.” He also compared the movie to the classic Die Hard. The actor further asserted that sequels “work for Die Hard” and then Carry-On 2 can also happen.
Carry-On is the story of an airline security guard, Ethan Kopek. He finds himself in a life-and-death situation on Christmas Eve. Kopek gets threatened by Jason Bateman’s Traveler to transfer a suitcase with a bomb on the plane or else his girlfriend, Nora’s (Sofia Carson) life will be in grave danger.
Recently, Taron Egerton talked to ComingSoon’s Tyler Treese and shared that he feels Carry-On is a Christmas movie. He said, “I think it’s a Christmas film if it makes you feel like it’s Christmas. Die Hard makes me feel like it’s Christmas. So for that reason, I think it’s a Christmas film.”
