Focus Features just sent over the following poster for Joe Wright’s upcoming teenage assassin flick Hanna starring Saorise Ronan (The Lovely Bones) and set to hit theaters on April 8.
The film centers on a 14-year-old girl (Ronan) trained by her ex-CIA operative father (Eric Bana) to be an assassin of sorts, in the wilds of Finland. Ultimately her father charges her with a mission that takes her across Europe while eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Cate Blanchett).
I have a pretty good feeling I know where this film is headed and I’m not yet convinced it’s going to be one to watch, but Joe Wright’s track record is one that tells us to give him a chance even if The Soloist was a bit of a letdown. The score from The Chemical Brothers is another reason to look out for what this one may have to offer.
