Theme park fans will finally be able to roam the raptor paddock with Blue, Charlie and Echo on a soaring run that will take them 155 feet in the air going up to 70 mph. The award-winning Universal Creative team in partnership with Amblin Entertainment spared no expense to create an equally thrilling way to integrate a new story in the Jurassic World universe for the ride. Currently, their Jurassic Park water attraction is still in operation and has not changed over to the Jurassic World version that opened at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2019. However, like its West Coast cousin, the VelociCoaster will feature popular characters from recent blockbuster films.
The original cast from the Jurassic World movies Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and BD Wong will reprise their roles as Owen Grady, Claire Dearing and Dr. Henry Wu. A new in-universe story will transport guests into a cinematic environment inspired by the Jurassic World films with detailed rock, a looming watchtower to keep an eye on the dinos, and lush landscaping over the lagoon the coaster rests beside. Dr. Wu will greet you in the queue with an introduction to a new “carnivore expansion” while Claire and Owen prepare you for your adventure.

The coaster boasts a magnetic launch as you take off through the raptor paddock, into the air, just inches above water reaching 70 mph in 2.4 seconds. Did we mention the state-of-the-art ride vehicles hold you down with a just lap bar? There are no over-the-head restraints here. You’re DANGLING as you maneuver through 4,700 feet of track. There’s a barrel roll over the lagoon and a signature top hat that will send riders 155 feet in the air and into an 80-degree drop. Universal’s steepest drop yet.
