Sony released a new Venom: Let There Be Carnage trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel. The film, which has been delayed several times due to COVID-19, is set to release on September 24. It once again stars Tom Hardy, who will play Eddie Brock/Venom. It will release later this year exclusively in theaters against Dear Evan Hansen and The Sopranos prequel film The Many Saints of Newark.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage also stars Michelle Williams (The Greatest Showman) as love interest Anne Weying, and battling Woody Harrelson’s maniacal Cletus Kasady, who is the film’s villain, Carnage. Oscar nominee Naomie Harris (No Time to Die) co-stars and is rumored to play the villain Shriek, Carnage’s love interest and accomplice.
The official synopsis reads:
Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of MARVEL’s greatest and most complex characters. Directed by Andy Serkis, the film also stars Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and Woody Harrelson, in the role of the villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage.

Andy Serkis will be directing the film. Serkis previously directed Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, which was released on Netflix in 2018, the TV movie The Ruins of Empires, and the drama Breathe starring Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy. The actor has plenty of experience with Marvel properties, having appeared in the films Avengers: Age of Ultron and Black Panther, in which he portrayed the villain Ulysses Klaue.
