ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive clip from the upcoming coming-of-age drama-thriller What Breaks the Ice, starring Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks, Knives Out 2) and Sofia Hublitz (Ozark). Cinedigm Entertainment Group will release the film on October 1 in select theaters, on Premium VOD, and Digital.

“Two girls, from different worlds, form a deep and unlikely friendship in the sweltering summer heat of 1998,” reads the official synopsis. “Their fun and carefree days quickly turn cold as they find themselves at the center of a mysterious murder.”

Written and directed by Rebecca Eskreis (Noodling, Gone Fishing) in her feature directorial debut, the movie also stars Lukas Gage (The White Lotus), Joel Allen (The Purge), Shakira Barrera (GLOW), Catherine Curtin (Stranger Things, Orange Is the New Black), and Aimee Mullins (Stranger Things, Devs).
