ComingSoon is excited to debut the Spyral trailer for Bill Guttentag’s mental health documentary. Using a variety of sources, the film follows one bipolar woman and the impact it has on her family. The two-time Academy Award winner has been nominated five times. He won the Oscar for Best Documentary, Short Subjects in both 1989 and 2003 for You Don’t Have to Die and Twin Towers, respectively. The director has recently worked on the series That Animal Rescue Show and on the films Sublime, Only the Dead, and Knife Fight.
“A tragic true story that reveals the mental health epidemic in America. This is a dramatic and powerful view of the toll that bipolarism takes on one woman’s life and the family she leaves behind,” says the synopsis. “With over a decade of home videos, diaries, and social media, Oscar-winning director Bill Guttentag stitches together the tragic story and the mystery behind it.”
